Minister for Information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah has awarded 11 selected students of the Ghana Institute of Journalism (GIJ) scholarship to continue with their Bachelor’s Degree programme in Communication Studies at the Institute.
The award of the scholarship forms part of efforts by the Ofoase Ayirebi legislator to provide education and skills development support through the Oppong Nkrumah Education and Skills Development Fund (ONESDEV) for the youth of his constituency and in extension Ghana.
The fund, designed to provide scholarships to brilliant and needy students previously supported 200 students from Ofoase Ayirebi with scholarships.
This the Minister, who himself is a former media practitioner in a brief conversation with the beneficiaries of the scholarship advised them to study hard to justify the investment made in them.
He also encouraged them to be of good examples to other students who are looking forward to applying for support through the fund.
