Last Sunday, October 20, 2024, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in Akim-Ayirebi took to the streets for a spirited health walk, led by the Member of Parliament for Ofoase/Ayirebi, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah.
The event drew hundreds of constituents and supporters who walked through key areas of the constituency, in what was both a fitness exercise and a show of political solidarity.
Addressing participants after the walk, Oppong Nkrumah took the opportunity to recount several achievements during his tenure. He cited improvements in healthcare and education, highlighting new road projects and bridge constructions that have enhanced connectivity within the constituency.
Mr. Oppong Nkrumah also mentioned efforts to provide safe drinking water, a key issue in many rural communities, and outlined his scholarship program, which has supported local students in their academic pursuits.
“I am happy to announce that four students from our constituency have been sponsored to study medicine at the University of Cape Coast, with one of them being from Ayirebi,” he stated.
These achievements, he noted, was part of his broader commitment to empowering the youth through education.
With just weeks to the December 7 general elections, the MP emphasized the importance of continuity in leadership. He appealed to his constituents to retain him as their representative in Parliament and to vote for NPP’s presidential candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
According to the Ofoase/Ayirebi legislator, his reelection and that of the NPP is crucial for sustaining the ongoing development initiatives and delivering more transformative projects in the constituency.
