KON retains Ofoase Ayirebi seat

The Member of Parliament for Ofoase Ayirebi constituency, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, has been retained after Saturday’s NPP primaries. With a commanding performance, Mr. Oppong Nkrumah secured 378 votes, surpassing his opponents. Maxwell Osei Gyamara polled 100 votes, while Lawyer Eric Owusu Mensah secured 92 votes. Two votes were rejected during the counting process.

As the results were tallied, it became evident that Mr. Oppong Nkrumah was set for victory, winning by a significant margin.

The primaries, conducted in 105 constituencies nationwide, saw a mix of unopposed incumbents and some losing their seats. The outcome in Ofoase Ayirebi reflects a strong endorsement of Mr. Oppong Nkrumah by party members in the Eastern Region.
